I have a query on the default account assignment tab in KA01.
When I create a cost element (400200) with a default cost center as DeptA, by default the same cost center is appearing at the time of posting the entry.
But when I change the cost center to DetpB from Detp A at the posting entry level, still it accepts.
Does this mean that this assignment does not restrict the posting to the cost center Dept Awe have assigned.
If so what is the purpose of doing the assignment.
OKB9 is the place where we link Gl account to the cost center, order and also the profit center.
My query is if I dont have any profit center and I still want to restrict the cost element to a particular cost center, how will I do.
What is the differece between KA01 and okb9.
Please guide me,
