SAPDB Update from 7.3 to 7.4 fails

Now for the update of SAPDB... Basically, I receive an error running SDBUPD; it complains about the state of my log and backup settings. True to SAP philosophy, there doesn't seem to be much documentation on troubleshooting in the SAPDB doc; has anyone encountered same issues after importing SP 37 for the miniWAS 6.20? Also, I'd like to know if I can simply run SDBUNINST, then SDBINST for maxDB version, say, 7.6, then use that version with my "old" database instance BSP (which was created on sapDB version 7.3)? Is there any comprehensive upgrade doc somewhere (can't seem to find it on neither sapdb.org nor maxdb.org).

Never had the problem with the upgrade of the DB, have you tried reseting your log and backup settings to the default ones and tried again?
