unable to access WAS 6.4 through browser.

hi,

I have installed WAS 4.6 on a windows 2003 server. Installation went without errors. ( I have installed WAS many times before also. ) After the installation was over I started WAS and in management console everything looks fine and GREEN. But when i tried displaying the default page on browser e.g http://localhost:50000, strangely default page do not show up. I feel it has something to do with my Windows 2003 server. I made the appropriate changes in browser proxy settings e.g to bypass proxy server, made entry in host file also for mapping ip to machine name.

1 more thing if its of any importance is that.. NDS didn't got installed. but I got a success message when installation was complete.

The Error/message which i get on browser window is pasted below.

Cannot find server or DNS Error

Internet Explorer .

Please help as I have to install EP 6 on this machine.

    Hello,

maybe you can try it with the ip of the server, e.g. http://192.168.0.1:50000 ...

A very simple hint, but maybe it helps a bit

    Hi Dipender,

If your first server instance is installed on SID YY0x, where 0<x<9 and YY are two letters, you may try to connect port 50x00.
