Dear Experts,

I am an HR proffessional, since 11 days struggling till late nights for installing SAP IDES on WinServer 2003r2 Enterprise Edition SP2. I Googled alot found n-numbers of materials, formated the OS around 45 times. Infact I took this challenge by myself that I shall not seek any help but now requesting you here to help me around.

I am installing all windows compenents i.e certificates, IIS, DNA, active directory etc. Finally not sure whether making errors in those configurations. However I am not able to move forward in installing Central Instance . Till JAVA, ORALCE 9i , and all are successfully installing.

When I run setup.cmd, in SAPINST. NT, dos opens and stucks in giving the Password in SAP System administration, Its giving the error (go and change the password in to OS level)

Pl. guide me thru this. What error is going on.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Regards

Karan Adhikari

Are you doing a domain or a local installation?

If it's local, just wait, it takes time until Windows "notices" that there is no domain controller for the "workgroup".

First of all let me thank you for the address.

Sir, I have set up a Domain Server (nortan) server, also installed the Active Directory components. Assigned the IP address in TCP/IC too.

Further, initially I gave me the error that " Local policy of the system do not give the Permission to interactlvely" however I cleared the by nt rights command.

Then I gave me the error of password complexity. However I was also cleared by gpupdate command. After this it accepts the 3 digits password by When I install the SAPINST. it gave me the error of Bad password.

I tried to edit the group policy by logging into my SAPADM(user ac) but it gives the red cross in the same.

I am looking for some tutorial which can guide me thru the initial set up of all this.

Thanks

Karan

This is all in the official installation guide from

http://service.sap.com/instguides

4.7 is very old and obsolete, why don't you use a new software stack?

Sir, I have the official installation guide which came along with the 3 DVD's, my worries are with the setting up the Win Server 2003, prefectly for this installation.

Anyways, thank once again.

Section 4 of the installation guide is

4 Installation Preparations

If you have special requirements concerning passwords (e. g. a 3 character password) you have to set that up accordingly.

Are you "faking" licenses?
