How to config Material Master? what are the steps? any scenario while implementing?

Material type we are using

Maintenance assemblies

spare parts

Nonstock

nonvaluated

Because just now finish the blue print and going to configure these material type. So guess for the scenario please let me know.

For Confi. of Material material & following customisation Steps are :

1.OMSL:Define Material Number Length

2.OMS9:Define Field Reference

3.OMS3:Define Industry Sector

4.OMS2:Define Material Type

5.OMT3B:Define Screen Sqence

6.OMT3R:Ordring Screen Sequence

7.OMT3E:Assigning Secreen Sequnce to Industry Sector

8.OMSK:Define Valuation Class

9.OMSF:Define Material Group

10.OMSR:Maintaioning Field Group

11.OME4:Define Purchasing group

12.MMNR: Maintaioning Number Ranges of material

NOTE:With help T.Codes OMS2, OMSR,OMS9 and you can make field in the material master to be required entry or optional or display or hide .

#Scenario depends on business process.Material Type may be are raw material, packaging material, consumables, Spares, Semi finished goods, Finished goods etc..
