Hi,

Assuming the moulds are available, you may follow the steps below:

> Create mould as Equipment with PRT screen data

> Create measuring point for this equipment.

> Create counter based maintenance plans for preventive maintenance.

> Use applicable user exit to update the measuring point, in association with PP product confirmation, where this mould is used in respective work center.

> This will give the preventive maintenance schedule in accordance with usage.

> For unplanned repairs, use notification/Maintenance order route to calculate the costs and to maintain history.

> When life expires, deactivate and set 'deletion' flag' to the respective mould equipment master, so that it can not be used in production.

> Detailed scenario should be mapped, based on the actual customer requirement.

Hi,

Can you tell me the process more from manufacturing point of view.

The tool room is used to manufacture dies and moulds and job work is for internal purpose only. It manufacture the tools and send to the production department where the actual production for the final component is carried away. Apart from this, mould maintenance is also carried out in the toolroom.

How can I prepare a flow chart for the whole process.

There are certain other issues also which I need to discuss.

Thanks,

Soumya

Hi,

If you want to map from production of tools-dies/moulds, you may follow this :

> create material type ROH(raw material), which is used for manufacturing the tools.

> Carry out the internal operations through PP-converting ROH to HALB to FERT.

> let FERT be for internal consumption.

> by above process you will be able to capture the cost of manufacturing the tool.

> Issue the FERT(finished product) as PRT to manufacturing plant.

Now follow the previous mail procedure for maintenance of this PRT.

PP personnel can give an accurate picture on the respective process.

Hi, thanks for the response till now,

Can i synchronize tool maintenance and plant maintenance together, Converting the manufactured tool as an asset for the compnay. ??

Hi,

The forgoing mails explained the integration of manufactured tools with with PM module by the way of converting them to equipment with PRT activities.

However, to treat them as asset for the company, is an altogether different scenario and requires mapping the same with FICO help, by which, as asset may be created and linked to the equipment master.

The depreciation and associated activities have to be confirmed from your Finance since they will affect the P&L.

Thanks James.

For the current situation my requirement is to understand the process for converting the finished tool to an ASSET and maintaining the equipment master.

Second is, I want to findout how the maintenance activities can be carried out for the same tools which has been converted to asset.

I wld like to have furthur contact with you, and I ll be glad if you can share ur email id wid me.

Hi,

you can make a setting so that whil;e creating production order a serial number is created and as per that a n equipment is created automatically.

when an equipment is created you can do maintennace activity for it.

for this you need to assign serial number profiles and siign in work scheduling view of finshed product.
