LIS Set UP .

Hi All,

I need to initialize the set up table as some data(Initial load data) is missing in BW.

Steps:

1.Empty the BW delta queues on R/3 by extraction to BW

Load the delta data from R/3 into BW, so that the delta queue (transaction RSA7) no longer contains any data.

Initialization:

2.Delete the content of Setup tables (T-Code LBWG).

3.Fill the Setup tables

4.Stop Delta Process chain Schedule.

5.Run the Init InfoPackage.

6.Reschecule the Process chain.

Question:

1.Step 1, is optional right as delta is indepndent of Setup table?

What happens if we do not load in BW from delta queue? When is Step 1 Mandatory?

2.Any other steps to be followed?

Thanks and Regards,

MuraliManohar.

If you are going to delete the entire contents of your data target and reload it then Step 1 is not mandatory....

If you are going to do a re-initialization then step 1 is not mandatory...

Step 1 is mandatory when you are going to enhance your datasource with new fields..

    No other steps are required.

    --- Thanks...

step1 is necessary when you drop entire data and reload ..... and you load directly to cubes. users also have to be locked while carrying out setups and init loads in this case. You need not run the delta loads to clear the delta queue. You can delete the extraction queue and delete the init in BW. If records are being posted in ECC at the time of setups, those docs will be loaded to the setup tables as well as written to the extraction queue. If data is loaded direclty to a cube, there would be duplicates as init and delta loads would have those docs.

Step1 is not needed when you are setting up old documents which are missing in BW.

    Hi,

The step to "enpty the BW queue" is always mandatory if you want to delete the set up table.

If you are just willing to add some extra data to setup table without deleting it, then there is no need to empty the Q.

In case of entire data deletion & reload in SET UP table, you will have to follow below steps:

1.Empty the BW delta queues on R/3 by extraction to BW

2.Delete the content of Setup tables (T-Code LBWG).

    3.Run the Init InfoPackage

    4.Fill the Setup tables

5.Fill data to BW (manual or PC)

The main step is to run init in BW before filling the setup table. So after init any record coming in setup table is treated as new record. And can be tracked in full repair or delta.

it is necessary to empty the BW delta queue.

To do this you can either do the load in BW or you can use SMQ1 and SMQ2 to empty the queues.

Of course you must take care that the delta proces chain only starts after your new setup has been done.
