Upload from local PC instead of KM Content

As you know, in order to attach any document to News or Quickpolls, we only can choose a doc within Portal KM hierarchy. How is it possible to attach/upload a document from the local pc ? I don't want to create any FSDB repository because it can be any directory on any pc

    Hi Ahmet,

this is not possible directly. There are also several barrieres to implement such thing: A news is an xml file; this can contain a link to a KM repository/folder. But when you want to upload, it would mean also to determine where to upload. Not impossible, but some work...

A workaround is to offer the possibility to upload files into a certain KM repository/folder and afterwards to create a news with the known file attachement possibilty chosen from KM.

    Hope it helps

      Hi there,

if you want to upload the files without entering the portal, you can use WebDAV. You have to build the XML File by yourself and then access the regular news-folder via WebDAV. I think this will be the easiest way. 😉

      Greetings, Eik
