how to default sorting on the tableview control per user for a BSP appl

Hi,

I want to default sorting per user for the table view control of my BSP application in the Portal. meaning user "A" wants the table view to be sorted on the 'Date' column but user "B"

wants it sorted by default on the 'material' column. Is this possible in the Portal? Do I need to pass this information as a url parameter in the session?
