Configure RWD uPerform Server - Access denied error

Former Member

I'm currently installing RWD uPerform 4.3. I managed to install the Search Server, Database, and Application Server. When I try to configure the uPerform server, I get an access denied error message.

I browsed to http://<server>:8080. The Vignette Collaboration login screen appears. When I click on the Login button, it changes the URL to http://<server>/gm/mypage? and I then receive the access denied error. It appears the port number is switched to my default 80.

Even when I granted full control permission to the entire Vignette installation directory (for anonymous account in IIS and the group EVERYONE), but I still receive the same error message.

If any experts can assist, it would be greatly appreciated.

My setup is Windows Server 2003 R2, SQL server 2008 SP2, .Net Framwork up to 3.5 SP1, Internet Explorer 8

Thanks,

Clement

After inspecting the event log, it appears the anonymous account that IIS is using for the uPerform website is under a group forbidden to access the network.

The solution:

1. Run secpol.msc

2. Browse to Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment

3. Look for "Deny access to this computer from the network"

4. Ensure that your anonymous account or the associated group is not listed in here.
