Hi Srider,

I don't think you can do it using Input Control. But, I just thought of a workaround which can help you make something appears like its a totally different tab, but there will be ONLY ONE TAB in the report.

1. Create all the tables, Charts and/or other blocks needed for Tab 1, in the Report/Tab 1, and add suffix " - Tab 1" to all the block names

2. Create all the tables, Charts and/or other blocks needed for Tab 2, in the Report/Tab 1, and add suffix " - Tab 2" to all the block names

3. and so on if you need more tabs

4. Create a variable called Display Tab = ""

5. Create a Single Value input control using the Radio button, with this variable [Display Tab] and create a custom LOV with values Tab 1, Tab 2, as many number of tabs you want and select default value as Tab 1. (Refer to this blog by David G for creating Input Controls.) Make the whole report as dependency for this input control.

6. On all the blocks we created in step 1, which has a suffix as " - Tab 1" in their name, go to their Format Table/Format Chart/Format Cell window -> General -> check the Hide when following formula is true: and write the formula as =[Display Tab] <> "Tab 1" (Refer to this blog for Dynamic Visibility or Hide block)

7. On all the blocks we created in step 2, which has a suffix as " - Tab 2" in their name, do the same as in last step, but use the formula as =[Display Tab] <> "Tab 2"

8. and so on, if you have more tabs

Now, when you select Tab 1 in the Input Control, you'll see only those blocks which are supposed to be shown (from tab 1), and on selecting Tab 2, you'll see only those blocks (from tab 2).

Hope that helps.

Thanks,

Thank you for your reply but that approach wont help me. I have multiple tabs (summary and detail tabs) and I am needing to navigate from summary to detail when clicking on one of the measure values in the summary tab. I know this is possible by using document linking but I heard from Webi 4.1 SP6 onwards input control has evolved so much that it is possible to navigate from one tab to another within the same document but yet to find out if its really possible.

Thanks!
