Hi Team
My SAP landscape consists of 4 systems (DEV, SMN, QAS & PRD) running ECC6/Oracle 10 on Solaris 10. SAP applications and databases sit on a unified NetApp storage.
We have since acquired IBM Power series servers & intend to migrate the solution from Solaris to the new AIX platform. The storage hardware will remain the same
Which is the best way to go about it ? Will a homogenous system copy of SAP from SUN hardware to the new hardware (IBM) work in this sceneario ? Kindly advice
Thanks
Hi, it might work with additional SQL commands after the move.
IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, Linux on Power, and HP-UX are big-endian platforms.
try and you will see... but to get support, you'd better use the heterogeneous system coy guide and ask a certified OS/DB consultant to do this.

Msororaji;
we are looking into the same platform migration.
Can you provide an update?
Has the migration been completed?
How was it done?
Thanks
Eric

Hi,
Since you are only changing the OS and not the DB database specific methods might be a faster option.Like oracle to oracle online and transportable tablespaces.But still you need a certified consultant i.e. os db certified.
