Hi,

In Batch manufacturing under Production supervisor screen when i select the order and clicked on a show button for work instrcution, another window opens up which has Details in German. Can any one helps to solve this?

I have already setup the Custom attribute and followed the document but unable to change it to English.

Thanks,

Raveen

What does it says?

And is the new window another web page or pop-up window? If you can tell me more information, I could search the page and eventually help you to solve the problem

Hi,

When i choose a order and click on show work instruction a new work instruction window is coming up and i see there the german heading tabs as " Vorbereitung und Einwaage " and Material Eintagen " and so on but when i expand the tab i see the description in english.

Hi Anyhelp on this, I saw one thread relating to Localization and it seems to me the localization issue here with these templates.

Can someone please point me how to solve this issue.

Thanks,

Raveen

P.S : When I choose a Order in Work instruction and click on show button another window is coming up, when I trace the path it is taking me to Web folder "/SAP_BM/ WEB/WorkInstructions/HTML Orders" on workbench and the irpt page is 08062011104512.irpt there I see the combination of HTML and Java script defined and I see the headlines in German language. I have created a Localization entry in MII as UserLang, my question is where should I enter(what is the syntax) this on irpt page to change the language to English. Is this the right approach?

Hi Raveen,

Did you download the order before setting the UserLang? The webpage gets created shortly after the download has completed (depending on the settings, it could be a few minutes to an hour after). If you download another order, it may show up as the language defined in UserLang. The original default language for the Work Instructions is German.

Hi Mike,

There is no change I see even sending the Order after setting the Localization attribute "UserLang" .Do I need to add as syntax any where on workbench?

Thanks,

Hi Raveen,

I do not know the inside of the transaction and it has been about 15 months since I did any work on the BM templates.

I will see if I can get one of the original developers to respond.

Hi Raveen,

I tried to contact the original developer, but they are no longer at the same employer. The project leader there is trying to find someone else to take a look at it, but it is a holiday in Germany so it won't be very promptly answered. I did find a reference to the Stored Procedure in SQL used to process the Work Instructions, so you may want to take a look there.

Good luck,

Mike

Hi Raveen,

I don't have access to the SQL Server system right now. But there should only be one custom SP for the BM application.

Perhaps someone else can provide, please?

Hi Raveen,

please have a look at the database. There should be a table called "HTML". This contains the snippets that are used for generating the HTML content in the work instruction. You should be able to modify these. As long as you leave the place holders (@@...@@) and the general structure intact.

Kind Regards,

Hi Christoph,

Yes, I found the table HTML and I can see there are German terms used in there. Should I need to manually change them / translate them to English or can you please suggest what actions to be performed here.I really appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Raveen

Hi Raveen,

yes please update the strings in the database. In this version of our product (that was used as base for the Batch Manufacturing) there was no internationalization and localization support, besides changing the strings directly.

Kind Regards,

Hi Christoph,

Thanks for the clarifications, I think I need to learn German in this case :-)..Well, I have another question which I posted in as a different question in this forum " " and this is regarding the issues I have with Shift Administration, In shift Administration when I click on a Shift plan tab I page is not responding any more, I tried to check at various levels but couldn't solve the issue, is this something you have an answer with you.

Thanks,

Raveen

Hi Raveen,

Shift Administration was contributed by another partner. I would suggest that you go ahead and close this thread and open a new one for that question.

Thanks,
