InfoCubes questions

Hello friends;

Last time I had a questions about adjustments and we came up the using 0CALDAY as a keyFigures. Ok, I am fine with this but InfoCube is not design for Overwrite, but it will append the new record. So, How long it will append ...? My question is; cube has this capacity to accept all the appended record all the time or one day it will get full and we have to clean it up or somthing else.? Please clear me in this question. thank you.

    There is no "full" for an InfoCube. About performance: Compression in the InfoCube is what's recommended, then "duplicate" records will be summarized.

      Most of our cubes are compressed weekly, compressing any Requests that are more than 14 days old. We have an event setup to initiate the compression, although we're migrating that to process chains.

      We have some smaller cubes that get compressed when we manually start a process chain. I generally run that process chain once a month. Some of our cubes also greatly benefit from specifying Zero Elimination when compressing. Some cubes have reduced the number of rows in half with this option vs without it, but it all depends on the data loaded to that cube.

      Compression is a pretty solid process with very few problems. Some appls, like Inventory, require special care. There are OSS notes on that and a pdf file on SDN for Inventory.
