When my company asked SAP about SAP Sourcing 7.0 last month, we were told that several "ramp up" customers were going live around June 2. Is anyone live in production yet?
Hello Everyone,
Right now we are working on 5.1.08 version, we are also planning to upgrade the system.
can you please provide me the information regarding wave 8, is it released?
If it is not than can you please provide me the path to get upgrade guide and notes for wave 7.
Also can you please clear me i have a question - what is the difference between Service pack upgrade and next version upgrade?
Thanks,
Ritu

SAP Sourcing 7.0 ramp-up program has started on Feb 28, 2011 and we currently have 13 active customers participating in this ramp-up program. Most of the cusotmers are making good progress with very few product related issues. Originally, 2-3 customers were planning to go live in the beginning of June; however, they have delayed their go-live schedule due to internal readiness issues (such as resource, vacation, and end user training issues). We currently expect several of them to go live by early July. We will keep you all posted as soon as 7.0 exits the ramp-up and becomes generally available.
Thanks,
Steven

Hi Sai,
In general, the upgrade steps are same as previous releases, but there are some addtional upgrade scripts that you need to run. Sourcing 7.0 upgrade guide available on the SMP contains instructions on prerequisites, upgrade steps, etc.
Also, you might want to take a look at the supported platforms before you attempt the upgrade.

Vikram
