doubts on Calibration process

Hi All,

I have below doubts on Calibration process:

1. Is it mandatory that we need to do calibration process only for test equipments..

2. In calibration process , if Usage decision for inspection lot is given as not accepted then , we should be doing maintenance by creating notification ? .. if yes then how to do we create notification automatically if inspection lot is not accepted..

3. Please let me know how inspection points are useful , i am not clear with the F4 documentation given ..

thanks & regards

For 1st question, is ther any possibility for getting inspection lot no in notificaiton.

QCC0 > Quality Notifications > Notification Creation > Notification Type > Define Screen Templates > Define Screen Areas and Tabs

Select the notification type 'M2' and 'Extended view' of menu tree.

Assign the screen area '039' (reference document/inspection lot' into any visible tab.

    Regards

    1. Is it mandatory that we need to do calibration process only for test equipments..

    > You need one technical object(functional location, equipment) at least for calibration process.

    2. In calibration process , if Usage decision for inspection lot is given as not accepted then , we should be doing maintenance by creating notification ? .. if yes then how to do we create notification automatically if inspection lot is not accepted..

    > During results recording or usage decision you can record the defect then a maintenance notification will be created automatically.

    > You can find the notification type 'M2' is assigned to inspection type '14' in IMG.

    3. Please let me know how inspection points are useful , i am not clear with the F4 documentation given ..

    > One maintenance order can have several technical objects.

    > One inspection lot is created for one maintenance order.

    > So we need the inspection point concept to record the results for each equipment.

    > If you want to implement the calibration, you should define the inspection point into header of maintenance task list.

    1. So we can do Calibration process for all equipments based and not only test eqpts ..?

    > Yes, you can use any equipment category. The functional location also.

    2. So where in config we can find M2 notification assigned to inspection type 14 ..?

    > Assign a notification type to an inspection type

    SPRO>Quality Management>Quality Inspection>Inspection Lot Creation>Maintain Inspection Types>Detail

    > Assign an inspection type to a maintenance order type

    SPRO>Quality Management>Quality Inspection>Inspection Lot Creation>Define Inspections in Plant Maintenance

For 2nd question, I would like to know whether confirmation via IW41 are required for calibration process or no

The order confirmation is not mandatory for calibration process.

The order confirmation is needed if you want to confirm the activity time, consume the materials and calculate the cost because you cannot consume the materials or make the request for purchasing through inspection lot.
