Creation of Mobile Upgrade Packages

Hi All,

We have modified few tiles from the CRM Mobile Sales Application using MAS. We have generated these tiles as well. We are not sure about how we can distribute these changes to all the Mobile Clients. We are aware of there is something called as Mobile Upgrade Console but not sure exactly how we can use it. Also while creating an upgrade which files we sould send to all Mobile clients.

Is there any documentation available apart from SAP Help?

Thanks

Amit

    Hi Amit,

The Upgrade Console is the mechanism used for packaging together changes that need to be distributed. You have the choice of working with units or with packages.

First of all you can create your own Units which list the directories, programs, files, commands etc that you want to distribute.

Then, using one or more units, you can create a package (a bit like a zip file) which selects all of the entries in the unit and puts them into a single 'mup' file. This mup can then be implemented on the target clients either manually (double-click on the mup file and 'Start Upgrade') or via the middleware (Upgrade Console 'send package' to clients who have subscriptions Workbench (Language Dependent) and Workbench (Language Independent)).

SAP provide standard units to get you started (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm40/helpdata/en/a1/713742f7e84a91886c3bd187faf799/frameset.htm) but you probably want to create your own based on the SAP standard entries.

    Regards,

    Graham
