Dear Experts

I would like to do Master datasource enhancement.Enhanced(with X) in SS and replicated to the BW.Created IO X and added as a attribute in the existing Infoprovider Y.Added in Transfer rules and communication structure. While transporting what are all things to be transported.

1.Replicate the DS from SS.

2.IO Y and X

3.Infosource

4.Transfer rules

5.Update rules

Is this the correct sequence...or anything else to be consider?

Thanks

Rajesh

Hi there,

You should first transport the DS from your SS to production and replicate the DS in BW production.

After that you should transport all of what you've mentioned from 2 to 5 but don't need to do separate transports. Transport from 2 to 5 in one single transport. Only the DS transport and replication is needed as first step.

Also no further steps are needed.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Diogo.

Thanks for the reply

Yes I will do as you mentioned for DS replication.I have doubts only in BW side transport sequence.I will collect the objects in sequence as mentioned above in single request and do transport.(Is that Transfer rules seperately required, because Infosource has both commn.structure and transfer rules, this is my exact doubt)

Kindly confirm whether the sequence is ok or not?

Thanks

Hi again,

For the BW side collect all the steps from 2 to 5 in a single transport.

The InfoSource contains both the transfer structure as well as communication structure stucked to it. The transfer rules will mapp the transfer structure fields to the BW InfoSource fields, and the update rules will map from the InfoSource BW fields to the InfoProvider BW fields.

The best in here is to transport all of them in a single request, but if wanted you could off course transport individuall the steps from 2 to 5 in the order you've mentioned without any issues.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Diogo.
