Create Storage location automatically

I have enabled this option in the following path

SPRO>Material management>Inventory Management and Physical Inventory>Goods Receipt>Create Storage Location Automatically

After i tried doing Goods Receipt giving storage location other than what i have assigned to the plant like GHSL

system is showing the error

No hits were found for storage location GHSL in plant xxxx

Message no. MIGO010

It should Generate a plant GHSL for the plant right???

Hi,

I think this configuration is not for create storage location for plant,is for create storage location data for your material

suppose you have a ABc material for your plant 1000 and you have storage location 0001 for your plant

But you not create material at storage location level,still system will allow to crate storage location data for your material

.

1. Enter for each plant whether the automatic creation of storage location data is generally allowed.

2. Specify the movement types for which storage location data is created automatically.

The standard system is set in such a way that the storage location data is created automatically for all types of receipts (goods receipt with/ without reference, stock transfers, intial entry of stock balances, reversal of goods issues.

hi melih and kailasugale,

Now tried creating a material without giving Storage location in MM01

Then i created PO

Then i tried GR at the time system will ask for Storage location that time if i give any storage location(eg i have 0001, 0002)

i have selected 0002 system will take, other wise if i select 0002 then also system will take

is that right???

Did you also enable the automatic creation of storage location data is allowed for goods issues and transfer postings? Please have a look at below customizing paths;
