eMail to be sent once a file is moved into MDM Exception Folder

Hello,

My requirement : Everytime a file from the MDM Adapter, goes into Excpetion folder of the MDM Ports, i need to trigger a mail to a user.

My Scenario: Files are placed in the Ready folder by an Oracle Scheduler of the inbound port of the MDM, this is picked by up the MDIS and Updated in the MDM repository.

Now the chances are that, some files will be put into exception due to some error, this is when i need to trigger a mail to the user saying excpetion occured.

Once the records is updated successfully it is sent to ECC via PI using the standard content provided by SAP.

Kindly let me know, if this can be achieved through PI.

Regards

Abhishek

hi,

it seem to me you need to create a FILE -> XI -> EMAIL scenario that get the files from the exectptions folder and send them by email to where ever you want... also you can do this scenario when you only check if there are files in the folder and send an appropriate email.

Agree with Roi Grosfeld above. You can configure a seperate file to email scenario for this. The file adapter polls the MDM exception folder. Every time a file is placed, it sends out an email via PI. No alerts to be configured in PI for this then.

As for ensuring that the email does not get sent out twice, maybe you can archive the files or delete them, depending on the requirement.

Hi Abhishek,

Which system is sender system? who is sending data to MDM adapter? are using MDM PI Adapter to send data to MDM using PI,then you can design interface easily.

You may required to use BPM here, but i am not clear about your requirement.

Hello Raj

Which system is sender system?

We have 3party system eNOMCAT.

which generates XML's for a material Code, with relevant details for the Material Master

We have an Oracle Scheduler which places file in the Ready Folder of the MDM.

But if an Exception occurs, the MDM Import Server places them in the Exception folders

who is sending data to MDM adapter?

We also have a scenario for default assignment in MDM, where MDM is the sender as well as the receiver (Same System).

are using MDM PI Adapter to send data to MDM using PI,

Yes.

Are there any document that will help me in BPM scenario.

Regards,

Abhishek
