Problem with GUI?

Hi All

I am facing a strange problem when doing a Ctrl F search on ABAP editor (SE37, SE38 etc)....no matter which key I type, it is only typing numbers and if I keep pressing the same key again and again, it types the numbers 1 through 0 in order. I am not sure is this is a setting or if it is really an issue....i tried uninstalling the SAP GUI and reinstall it, but the problem persists...anybody got a clue?

May be Function Lock or Num Lock on your keyboard.

Also check your User Profile (under System). Settings here can effect your KB.

Hi Neo,

check what software is running on your PC. Shut down/kill all fanc addons and if this does not help you got a virus.

hi Neo,

Have you tried logging in on a different screen ?

Have you tried logging in with a different username ?

The variable that holds the find string is rstxp-tdfind.

There are notes in SAP Service Marketplace that have this variable included

They're in the component BC-DWB-TOO-ABA so it may not be gui related.

Lastly , you could debug this error by dragging the debugging desktop icon onto the popup box

Good luck

Hi All

It turned out to be a problem with my new anti virus Norton 'Constant Guard'. As soon as I uninstalled it, this problem went away. Thanks for your replies.
