Ubuntu: Connection to partner broken Error No 104 Conection reset by peer

Hi all!

I've downloaded SAP Netweaver AS ABAP Developer Edition 1.0.0 and followed the manual thats inside the rar, but I can't seem to connect the SAP Gui (running on the same Ubuntu virtual machine as the Netweaver instance), its throwing the following error:

Error: connection to partner 'localhost:3201' broken

I've read that this is due to network problems, but the client is running on the same machine as the server, plus i've disabled the ubuntu firewall. Trying from another machine I can telnet to port 3201 without problems.

Any ideas as to what I should look for to resolve this problem?

Hi guys!

yes, I'm using 7.40 Gui

it cant be a network problema since I've tested it with a local client

localy I'm using localhost in the connection string

Have you already tried to use the same IP-address / hostname as when trying to telnet to port 3201 from the other machine?

What patchlevel are you using of 7.40 gui?

It certainly would appear to be a network issue from what I see so far.
