Performance problem with filtering

Hi

We have an InfoObject which has several thousand entries. If we want to filter this object in the Bex/Web it takes some minutes until the filterbox appears. Has anybody any idea how we can boost the response time?

Best regards

    Hi Reto,

in addition to what Roberto already responded, in the maintenance for the infoobjects, business explorer tab, you can set the 'Query Def. Filter Value Selection' to 'Only Values in InfoProvider and the 'Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn' to 'Only Posted Values for Navigation'. But if you have transactional data for all your characteristic values in the cube, this won't help very much.

    regards

    Siggi

    Hi Reto,

your problem can have different causes.

Some of these are program errors, for which corresponding notes are available...check whether you can improve the situation by implementing the latest Support Package.

More frequently, however, this will not be the case because the cause of the long runtime occurs in the Query design.

See OSS Note 748623 'Input help (F4) has a very long runtime' for a very complete view about this issue...

Hope it helps (and don't forget to assign some points by clickin'on the yellow star...it's a way to say thanks!)

    Bye,
