TEXT for Purchase Requisitions

Hi,

I have a query regarding Purchase Requistion TEXTs

I have defined a new text type 10.

In Copying rule for the same , I defined the" Material Master" as source object and "Basic data text" as Source Text" with seq 0.Now whatever the data was maintained in Material Master Basic data (Additional data) , it started appearing in this new Text Type for all new PR......... ALL Good 😊

Now I changed the copying text.I deleted the earlier copying rule and created a new with Source Object = "Purchase Requisition" and Source Text as "Delivery Text"

And I was expecting whatever the text I will enter in the "Delivery Text" of the Purchase Req. before saving , it will automatically get copied to my new Text.

But it doesn't work.

Wondering if my understanding is wrong.

Regards

Shrey

    Hi,

Your understanding is correct.Kindly check again wheather in "copying rules" configuration node under text config in SPRO the fix indicator should be selected as the 1st option. Then when u create PR at item level you can mention any text under delivery text but here since the source object is not material master but only PR hence u need to manually enter text.

    Thanks for the reply ...

The Indicator for Fix setting is selected as Blank which means "TEXT Automatically adopted in Target Object".

I do agree I need to Maintain the Delivery TEXT manually in PR (as I didn't define any copying rule for that ) but I am expecting whatever I will write in the Delivery TEXT , it will be copied to my own created TEXT (10) from delivery TEXT.

    IS THAT NOT RIGHT ?

If that is not going to copy into my text then what is the use of defining copying rules where the SOURCE TEXT is being picked from PR itself ?

Thanks in advance for your prompt reply

    Regards

    Shrey
