BOE installation issue Central Management Server failed to start STU000213

Hi,

I have installed BOXI 3.1 sp3 many times on different machines but have never ran into this issue.

During the installation the error which comes is Central Management Server failed to start. Please click retry or cancel to skip it STU000213. Which later after installing I found that there was no SIA in cmc and even if you try to add it it completes the whole process and still does not adds it.

I saw on forums that quite a people had this issue and were able to resolve it with some or the other tweaks and I tried to work around it, still unsuccesful

So I have windows 2003 server and trying to install BOXI 3.1 sp3 on it. It already had data integrater and BOXI in it but I was not able to log in to webi and decided to reinstall BOXi.

To uninstall BOXI I performed all the steps like after uninstalling it from add/remove programs

then deleted the local folders

then removed it from registry thru regedit

made sure that the name of the machine is same as which is used during installation

also added 127.0.0.1 |A| | 2524|1572| |||||||||||||||assert failure: (.oscafactory.cpp:1309). (false : OSCAPortListener::unblock: Fail to unblock listening due to connect failure

).

Please help someone. I have been breaking my head against the wall

Is it possible to uninstall BO DI, if so then uninstall BO DI as well. Install BOE XI 3.1 SP3 and then install BO DI.

Firstly thank you very much for replying guys. I am at such a point where my I will be force to reinstall the whole operating system.

@Massimo- See I am not sure of where and what the CMS data base is and how it works. But I by default installed BOXI with the bundled mysql db. Hope this answers your question.

@GuruAdmin- I have uninstalled DI and have tried installking BOXI as well. Trust me at this point I have tried each and every combination to install it.

I have a feeling that there can be two issues why CMS is not able to start up while installing.

first- since some of the important dlls are being registered in registry during the installation and that is avoiding the CMS database to startup during the installation. So even though I have used CCleaner multiple times to clean registry. It has got chunks and bits of BO in registry. But then again this is my first time uninstalling BO so do not know what the issue is and how to resolve it

Second- My host file is not setup correctly even though I have my computer name with the IP 127.0.0.1 in it.

Once again you Gurus please let me know what is the issue and where am I going wrong.

Thank you

Hi,

the CMS DB is the core of the CMS, in the DataBase are registered:

- Users/Authority Info

- Servers/Services Info

- FRS Maintenance Info

At the very beginning when SAI starts it starts then CMS and the CMS try to log on the CMS DB.

I suggest you to check if:

- the CMS DB has been created (when you install BOXI you should create two empty DBs (CMS and AUDIT), they are still empty?

- there is a user for connecting the DB.

- test the ODBC connection.

Then let me know.

Hey,

OK so I used different database one with MySQL and SQL server 2008. I also connected both with query browser on client tools and check whether the database tables have been installed after the installation. Everytime I see that there are tables of CMS and audit in there but do not know why SIA does not add in the CCM.

Having said that I think the user is the one which I use to connect the database

and ODBC connection I am already using for it

Once again what is the reason why it is saying that CMS failed to start during installation!

Really appreciate your help!

Well,

Connection then seems Ok you can try to create a new CMS wiht DB and etc. and see if the new CMS will work.

I will check few other options (actually I guess I have still one).

Let you know.

Massimo

Yes, I have tried doing that too. Created an empty database in MySQL and created all new CMS database in it. That still did not create and SIA for me!

Please let me know what is the other option you have

Verify the registry exist under suite12 --> CMS --> Instances.

Take a backup of the registry delete the registry and try create the CMS (again).

More

If it doesn't work try to upgrade to FP 3.5, use the new CMS you create.

Good luck.

Couple of things I did not understood!

First how to find suite12 in the registry? Can you please give me details on the whole point here!

Second how to create FP 3.5? What is FP 3.5?

Thank you for all your efforts!

Dear,

with my last post I meant:

You can try to upgrade your BusinessObjects Installation, I don't know if it will work because of your CMS connection problem.

With FP 3.5 I meant Fix Pack 3.5.

ciao,

Massimo
