Client Copy & SAP DMS issue

We recently did a client copy of config & database & this is the issue we are currently facing:

Though the there is single originals in DMS server , there are document three info records (identical record in Dev , QA & production) linked to the original , which means if anyone deletes a document record in Test or Dev environment , original in DMS server gets deleted, leaving a document info record in production with no associated valid link.

Has anyone faced this issue & what is the possible solution to this problem.

This is the solution I am thinking of & I would appreciate if someone can verify if this is the right path:

Delete the connection of Dev & Test environment with the content server repository. In this way the original are safe in the DMS.

for Test & Dev create a separate storage repository.

Appreciate if someone can verify this is the right approach

Yes,as indicated in earlier threads,you would need to maintain separate content repositories and storage categories for each of your environments(Dev,QA,Production) for the same content server.If done,you wouldn't encounter your current issue.
