Variable costs - KP06, KP26

Hi,

We have an interesting situation here - it seems as if when the user runs the KSPI transaction, it adjusts the total variable costs on the KP06 screen, and not the price on the KP26 screen, when the volumes are changed.

Now I can see the advantage for being able to do things this way, but do not know where to do this.

Have anybody seen the system behave like this?

They are not changing the volumes by KSPP, but they are changing the capacity utilization, as well as the base qty on the master recipe.

Hi ,

Activity Type Mater data ( KL01) has a price indictor ... You can choose between Based on Capacity or Based on Activity.

Now , depending on what is there in KL01, your KP26 should be set in that way..

If you choose based on capacify - Then FIxed costs are divided by capacity and Var costs by Planned Qty in KP26 ..

If you choose based on activity - Both are divided by planned Qty.... in KP26

Hope it clarifies your doubt .

My question is clearly - why does the system adjust the KP06 entry when the resource utilisation setting is changed.

What happens, is that the adjustment to the total variable cost happens at the time of KPSI, not KSPI. So if a price has already been created, and changes in the volumes take place, then KPSI will adjust the total variable overheads, to reflect the new volumes.

However, I have found instances during testing, where the total variable costs change, even though there has been no change in the activity hours. One reason that suggest itself, is that because of change in the capacity resource utilisation, the activity takes place in a different month than previously, even though the total activity for the year is unchanged.

But we ar emaking use of average prices for activity price calculations, so this should not be causing the problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
