Execute CV04N in Background

Our users have a requirement to take out a report from CV04N with a huge nbr of rows.

This report is not possible to execute, you will get 'Time out'.

We would like to execute CV04N in the background and get the result on an excel file.

Is this possible?

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, we have read through all notes and found out that this is not suitable for us.

We have found out that if we search via classification and then goes back to the Document Data tab and remove the Document type, then it goes much faster. Still this is not enough.

We would like to execute CV04N in the background and also if possible have the multiple values for the attributes in the same list + Object links.

maybe the BAPI_DOCUMENT_GETLIST2 could be used in background better than the CV04N.

What search inputs are leading to timeout? Did you explore this wiki [help|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/PerformanceinCV04N-Timeout+Dump]? Also,please see if SAP notes 976846 and 993462 could be of any assistance.
