Transferring Result recorded to Batch

Former Member

Hello,

I wanted to know how we can make result recorded for an inspection lot to be transferred to batch characteristics. Is there any special configuration required? Is this possible if I use inspection points?

Can usage decisions also be transferred to the batch.

After inspection, at the time of Usage decision can a particular batch be split to 2 or more batches?: 1 accepted and the other rejected.

Any help on these would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Aji Kurian Mani

Check whether Indicator 'Batch Valuation without Material Spec' in SPRO->QM->Basic Settings->Maintain Settings at Plant Level->Inspection Lot Completion is set

Steps Followed,

u2022 Creation of class Characteristic (CT04)

u2022 Creation of Batch Class (CL01)

u2022 Assignment of above created classed characteristic to the Batch Class at the time of class creation. (CL01)

u2022 Assignment of batch class to material master in classification view. (MM01)

u2022 Creation of MIC with reference to above created Class characteristic (QS21)

u2022 Creation of inspection plan with above MIC (QP01)

u2022 Creation of new batch (external numbering) for the material (MSC1N)

u2022 Creation of manual lot for 89 lot origin (QA01)

u2022 Result recording and usage decision (QA32)

Hello Aji,

Link the batch class charateristics to MIC in QS23. Assign the batch class to material and MIC's to the inspection plan/material specification .

Thanks

Yes, the MICs must be linked with the general characteristic of the batch. The general characteristic must be in the batch class. You must either create a material spec or in plant QM config check off batch results without material spec.

Since mic's can only be assigned to one general characteristic, you should consider creating all mic's in a central or virtual master plant. They can be used in individual plants inspection plans.

SAP provides a series of standard characteristics. If they are not already in your system you can copy them over to your system from the 000 client. That config is under the batch management setup. The characteristic for the UD code is LOBM_UDCODE. All standard characteristics start with "LOBM_".

You can post portion of a batch to a new batch in the stock posting screen. You use the line "new material" for this. Just don't change the material number, just the batch number.

Thank you for that, Yes we can split the batch to 2 batches upon usage decision. But, How can we give different usage decisions and hence different grades to both the batches?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Aji,

At the time of the UD you can specify the accepted and scrap qty for a batch . In this way you have accepted and scrapped qty for the same batch . Is this what you are looking for ?

Cheers

No, If I scrap the material the material inventory goes out of the system, but this is not the scenario.

Instead, my requirement is that upon quality inspection the inspector finds that part of the batch is of a different grade of the same material. So effectively I should be able to transfer the grades to each of the batch quantity to which I am splitting the original batch quantity. I can do this using UD codes, but the same UD code goes to both the batches. This is not feasible. So any other option?
