Client Copy

Hi,

I am installing SAP XI 3.0 on top of SAP Web AS 6.40 ABAP + J2EE system. The client copy has been performed before installing J2EE Engine from client 000 to client 001. During installation I wasn’t asked about the target client.

In visual Admin the parameter ume.r3.connection.master.client points to client 000.

XI Installation guide says:

The parameter ume.r3.connection.master.client must be set to your SAP Exchange Infrastructure client. Adapt the value if necessary.

says this parameter points to <ABAP_Engine_client>

My question is: what is the client for XI?

What should be the value for the parameter ume.r3.connection.master.client?

Hi Andreas,

If client copy was done after the installation, you need to change a lot of parameters which is quite risky.

Basically for your question above, the ume client should be 001 in your case if you want to use 001 as your "integration server" client.

You also need to change all the corresponding client parameters in Exchange Profile as well as in Visual Admin.

We are using client 100 but this depends on your install.
