question on data load

Hi All

can anyone please tell me what are the steps that are to be taken to load SD data from R/3 to BW for the first time(initial load).Everything is set up like the connection,Replication of the DS,IS,TR,UR,infoproviders and infopackage. I have to start the load which is about 30million records.

There is something about dividing this huge data into parts etc.

Any help is higly appreciated.

Hi Swetha,

There may be different ways followed by different companies.

If I were you i would have done the same things in the following way.

1. I will delete the contents of Setup tables.

2. I will create the varient for Initialisation.

3. Block all the R/3 Users

4. Delete the Delta Queue.

5. Collect postings with the job and set the job parameters in LBWE

6. Execute the Initializing variant

7. Upload infosource to PSA (use a infopackage)

8. Release all the R/3 users.

9. Delete data of Info targets (if any)

10.Load data from PSA to Info targets.

11.Collapse the Cubes (Take care about market update option )

These are the steps i would have followed but it may not suit your requirement.

Very good. Some small addendums:

1. In Step 7 it is important that you use a Delta Init.

2. You need to schedule a job in the R/3 that passes the records from the logistics tables to the delta queue. The name of the program depends on your application.

3. Praveen assumes that the data source is already activated in the source system. If it isn't yet done you need to do it first. I recommend not using V3 serialization but delta queue instead.
