we have defined Special Procurement Key(SPK) for plant 1000 as AA. we maintain it in plant 2000 if we need material from plant 1000.

what is the significance to maintain SPK AA in plant 1000?

Thanks,

PQ,

Depends upon how you have defined the key.

Is their any special reason to maintain same plant SPK in same plant.

we use plant SPK in STO, if we need some material from other plant.

Thanks,

PQ,

Just because a SPK has the same name (e.g. "AA") does not mean that it has the same functionality. SPKs are plant specific. You have to understand the configuration of each 'AA' SPK before you can understand when and how they will be used. You can see SPK config in OMD9.

A SPK for STOs would be similar to standard sap SPK '40'. Generally, you place such a SPK in the material master of the destination plant. This SPK is configured, in the destination plant config, to 'point' to the source plant.

It is possible, in the source plant, to also enter an SPK, even one for STOs. Since your company is using custom SPK names, I cannot say if this SPK is appropriate.

PQ,

Special Procurement has several uses - for STO, for sub-contracting, for direct-production etc. So, Yes, it is possible to have special procurement at supplying plant also. May be at supplying plant, that material is either procured from sub-contractor, or is subjected to direct production/procurement.

As others have said, special procurement keys always need to be configured (the SAP standard keys supplied out of the box, cannot be used as-is). So, it is the configuration, and not the SPK code, that drives MRP.

Hi,

special procurement key is defined for direct reflection of requirement in supplying or productive plant & can get easily that receiving plant take a material form which plant via stock transfer order.

Beacause if your plant is same then requiremet autoamtically reflecting same plant & you also not use stock transfer order to mve material with in plant.

So here no use of Special procurement if it mfg in same plant & not prescribed also.,

Thanks.......rakesh
