Campaign - TPM with out a Status Profile

HI All ,

How will a campaig or TRade Promotion Behave , if there is no Status Profile assigned to it ? Currently i have faced a situation where there is no assignment of status profile to campaign or TP via 'TYPE ' . However i could see System statuses assigned to these promotions !!!

How are these syste, statuses managed with out assignment of user status ?

Also currently there are promotions with system Status CREATED and LOCKED and we are unable to EDIT them .Kindly let me know , how we can edit these promotions .
