Hi!
We have problem with the "Distribute and Collect Offline Data" function.
All the parameters SMTPAUTH, SMTPPASSWORD, SMTPPORT, SMTPSERVER and
SMTPUSER are all set and works fine (E-mail notification function is
working)
But something doesn´t work when we try to distribute reports via
Offline Distribution Wizard. We have entered an E-mail adress
(xxx.yyy) in the VARYKEYS section in the Distrubutionlist
but when run the Offline Distribution Wizard we can see that it is
trying to send the E-mail to bpc.media.lanxxx.yyy and that doesn´t work.
"bpc.media.lan" is the name of our BPC server so why is that used in
the E-mail adress in the Offline Distribution Wizard?
Regards
Fredrik
Hi, any luck with your problem?
I experienced same problem with you. Everytime i used the distribution wizard, the summary tells that it is sending to the web server and not the smtp server.
Do you manage to solve yours?
thanks

Hi,
After several test, the offline distribution features work at last.
:Assuming the email notification in admin console and email notification in BPF are working just fine.**
In VARKEYS under userID try to use the values that can be found in the owner property of your driver dimension
for example under entity dimension:
ID OWNER REVIEWER
XXXX abc.com\user1 abc.com\manager1
in your distribution list under VARKEYS
!VARKEYS
ENTITY USERID
XXXX abc.com\user1
by doing so, it will use your smpt server and not the webserver.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Instead of entering the email address, can you try to enter the user ID. And make sure the user ID has the email address assigned in the security.
Hope this helps.

Hi!
I have tried this as well but it doesn´t work. If I put in the user idxx ( with a valid E-mail adress in security) then the wizard will try to send it to bpc.media.lanidxx.
Do I have to put an user ID from BPC? I thought it was possible to enter any E-mail adress since the Offline Distribution Wizard should be used to send report to user not having BPC installed?

Fredrik
Hi,
You can think this is another way also. If you can use this wizard to all the users (not included in BPC security), then they can do planning using these templates, and you dont have to purchase license for those users. Am I right? So, every customer will follow this approach. There will be only one user in BPC, who will run the distribution. Others will enter the values. So, need of spending a lot on the licensing.
Hi,
Okey I see your point but then I don´t see any use of this function, why send an offline report to a user having BPC installed?
I don´t think it would have any impact on the licensing beacuse this would be used to distribute reports that today are sent to user not having BPC(and would never be considerd to have a BPC licens) , by setting the report manually offline by park and go and then E-mail the reports to the user.
But thanks for your answer no I know how it works.
Regards
Fredrik
