Filter Web Template: Start value in hierarchy pop-up

Former Member

I am designing a web template where the user has a Navigation Box connected to a Organizational hierarchy. When the user clicks FILTER, a new popup is displayed, but in this popup the user has to start from the top of the hierarchy and navigate way down.

I want to make this filter so that the users starts at a lower hierarchy node which is more relevant for them. How do I pass this information to the filtering pop-up so that it does not start from the very top of the hierarchy?

Best Regards

Maybe I was not to clear about what I intend to do. I want to use a standard Generic Navigation Box (a drop down box wouldn't be usable since it is i long hierarchy) and modify the FILTER setting of this so that when the user clicks on filter for a characteristic that is a hierarchy, the pop-up which the user can select the node to filter on, does not start with the ROOT NODE, but starts on a node that I have specified.

Is it possible to improve the start position of the standard filter dialog for a hierarchy characteristic?

Hi,

As i understand you want to see the hierarchy available in the lower part of the screen which is more of concern for the user.

When entering a selection option you have various options for assigning a variable values:

− Define a single value

a. From the dropdown box select the operator =, and enter the value in the first input field. This corresponds to entering a single value (see below).

b. Do not change the Include setting.

c. To enter more than one single value, choose New Row. A new input row appears.

Select the hierarhcy from the lower part to higher part so that you can see the Lower hierarchy in the top.

Assign points if this helps
