Hello,
We are using PI 7.11 to send XML POs from SRM 7 to vendor systems.
We would like the PO creator to be notified when PO has error in PI and is not sent over to the vendor.
Do we have standard notification with events like in SRM in PI? I see nothing in SPRO.
Thanks in advance.
When a message "get stuck" in SAP PI the handling and alerting of the issue
is by\to the technical team.
If you configure the Alert mechanism in the XI the technical team will be alerted and resolve the issue
according to the required SLA for the interface.
If you will implement the scenario as synchronous , then the sending system might have
a better notification of the success\failure of the message in the connection remains open untill response returns from SAP PI.

CCMS monitoring, Alert configuration and RWB monitoring are standard ways in PI to notify errors.

you can configure ALM to monitor the scenario,if it fails in PI an email is trigger. to do that you have to configure the SCOT transaction to enable the SMTP port and also all the configuration related to Alert managment, seach for in SDN for blogs, there are many.

You can configure the CCMS alerting. This will allow monitoring on a central system with the RZ20 transaction everything from all system across the landscape, for different actions.
On XI/PI, it is possible to check failed messages, performance, heartbeat monitoring centrally. Please refer to the help pages below for information about the features and how to configure.

Also, the most recommended monitoring and auditing solution from SAP is the Solution Manager. It will provide a central place to monitor multiple information, even operational system wise from all integrated systems. Please refer to the help page below for more information.
