How-to suppress messages in the Bex?

Does anybody know if it is possible to suppress any messages in Excel? Not only warnings - I know how to do it - but ALL messages, even those created into SM02. Our system: BW30B, patch14, Bex latest patch

Thanks for any help. Ioan.

    Hi Ioan,

There is an option in the BEx toolbar, under the 'Settings' tool-> 'Suppress warnings from the server'. This should in all probablity work, but since I haven't used it .... you can go ahead and try it and tell me if it helped.

    Best regards

    Hello Ioan,

I am not sure, but I think messages created from SM02 overrides all, since it is a broadcast.

All other system generated messages, when in BEx, can be suppressed with the toolbar option.

    Best regards.

Setting the 'supress warnings from server' works in Bex but can anybody help with how we can suppress these warning messages when the query is displayed in the browser? They have been showing up since a recent upgrade. Thanks.

      Kala Tanjore,

You can suppress these warning messages when query is displayed in browser via

RSRT -> Select your query -> Click on Messages button -> Check the messages that you want to suppress and save.

      Regards,

      Lye

      loan,

I understand your concern on the system messages from SM02. You are not suppose to use SM02 unless you are Basis. Normally, what I posted to SM02 are global system messages e.g. Availability of the system for maintenance. Other than that you should not be using the SM02 to message. Besides, SM02 message will not be able to suppress because it is meant to be compulsary broadcast of system message to all users. Therefore, you will receive that messsage either in SAP GUI logon, BEx, Web role menu.

For the RSRT -> Messages option is to suppress messages related to query only.

      Hope the above help.

      Regards,

      Lye

Thanks Lye. It worked on a test query.

So, since this message suppression must be done at query level, now we have to re-transport all of our queries...! Wonder if there is a global message suppression setting. Older patches also had the option to supress messages but we never had to turn these off individually.
