Hi Experts,

I am installing Solution Manager 7.0 ehp1 on RHEL 5.

When i am giving JDK directory i'm getting the following message.

Directory /opt.IBMJava2-142/jre/bin is not a valid JDK directory. the java executable is missing.

I even tried with sun j2sdk: j2sdk1.4.2_27 but no use.

What should i do now?

Can any one please help me.

Thanks in advance

Uday

Hi Uday,

In my opinion, the javac executable ti being searched for and would not be available in the /opt/IBMJava2-142/jre/bin.

It should be in the /opt/IBMJava2-142/bin folder.

So set the environment variable JAVA_HOME to /opt/IBMJava2-142/bin. Save it in the user profile as well. And then retry the installation.

Hi Srikishan,

Thanks for your quick response.

I didn't get you clearly. I have bin folder in jre not in IBMJava2-142.

So i have given JAVA_HOME=/opt/IBMJava2-142/jre.

Can you please tell me in some more detail.

Thanks in advance

Uday

Hi Uday,

You need to install the full JDK then update the JAVA_HOME enviromental veriable under My COmputer > Properties > Advance.

As you are trying to update the JRE bin folder with JAVA_HOME. Download the full JDK and install it your system. then update JAVA_HOME enviromental veriable with JDK bin path properly and try again with installtion of the server.

Hope it will helps.

Hi Uday,

As suggested by Arun, a complete JDK is required. You currently have only JRE installed.
