Moving Average Question

Hi Experts,

We use moving average to calculate the item cost. We want to know what is the calculated period for moving average in SAP? Is the moving average cost calculated by the day we implement SAP, or itu2019s calculated by different time period, for example, yearly or monthly? If so, can we chose the period that we want to calculate the average cost?
