Hi I'm learning SAP BW and I have a question re External Hierarchy Tables.
/BIC/HIO_SREP1 - Hierarchy Table
/BIC/KIO_SREP1 - Hierarchy SID Table
/BIC/IIO_SREP1 - SID Hierarchy Structure
/BIC/JIO_SREP1 - Hierarchy Interval Tables
Re: The above 4 tables.
1. What is the purpose of each table.
2. What are the relationships between the tables?
3. How does each table interface with the infocube and how?
Looking to be able to draw a model on how these tables work together.
Hope this isn't too vague. Been trying to figure it out for a while but dont have enough BW experience to solve this brain teaser.
Hi,
Hierarchy tables are used to store flexible external hierarchies as opposed to internal hierarchies.
/BIC/HIO_SREP1 - version and time dependency for whole hierarchy
/BIC/KIO_SREP1 - SID for version and time dependency for whole hierarchy
/BIC/IIO_SREP1 - time dependency for hierarchy structures
/BIC/JIO_SREP1 - User of interval instead of single values to assign range of values to a specific hierarchy node
Hope this helps

Hi Stephen,
just check the respective fields of the tables via the TCODE SE11. It is pretty explanatory.
If you have any specific question regarding any of the fields, please post again.
Cheers
Andreas
