Sending data to a mainframe using APPC-LU6.2 protocol

We are trying to send data from our SAP system to a mainframe. The mainfram will accept APPC-LU6.2 protocol. Do anyone know how XI can be configure to send this protocol?

Thanks

Patrick

I'm not an SAP XI adapter expert but may be one of the iWay Adapters licenced for XI supports APPC/LU6.2.

A more direct solution (without XI) is to install a standalone SAP Gateway Release 4.6. Up to this release LU6.2 was supported by the Gateway. Depending on the platform you will need a SNA Software Package. If you install this Gateway on the Mainframe (z/OS) it uses APPC/MVS directly.

Some additional configuration steps are needed for APPC but than you could use ABAPs COMMUNICATION statements to communicate with any LU6.2 partner program (i.e. CICS) using synclevel 0.

Another solution for Mainframe-to-SAP communication is SAPs Legacy Connector which supports RFC/BAPI calls from COBOL or PL/1 applications running on the Mainframe...
