Hi All
I appear to be having a few issues with our ECC data in Solution Manager, basically there is no data.
For example:
Change Analysis - Message: Currently nothing to display for selected technical system(s)
Exception Analysis - Message: PRD - SAP BASIS 7.01
Total Number of SysLog Errors: n/a
Total Number of ABAP Dumps: n/a
Total Number of Update Errors: n/a
Workload Analysis - Message:
PRD - SAP BASIS 7.01
Avg. Dialog Response Time [ms]: n/a
Avg. Update Response Time [ms]: n/a
Avg. RFC Response Time [ms]: n/a
I am not sure why this is the case, I do have the Solution Manage connected an that ios working perfectly. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to get this working?
Many Thanks in advance
Phil
Just to add to Phil's post, security can be a silent killer when setting up any SolMan scenario. I'd suggest turning on the authorization trace in ST01 and leaving it on until you are done implementing You may find that you've missed a security role for a certain user or even that you need to add some auths to a role; running ST01 continuously will save you a lot of painful diagnosis.

Hello,
in solman_workcenter -> Root Cause Analysis -> Extractor FWK Administration -> Managed Systems -> Select yor system and find out the status of the extractor.
What is the current status for your SID?
Please check this note also:
Note 1259109 - Latest version of configuration file for E2E CA, EA, WA

For what it's worth Phil I had a similar error and one issue was in smsy the system was not setup correctly even though I had gone through the wizard.
I installed the landscape verfication tool which check smsy for errors. This helped me.
Also I'd make sure if your using trusted connections the users involved have the correct authorisation. I think you'll be getting shortdumps in either the satelite system or sol man itself if this is the case.

Thank you all for the advice, basically my Solman System is doing the following:
ECC6 (Ehp4)
End To End Analysis
Change Analysis - Message - "E2E Change Analysis: Currently nothing to display for selected technical system(s)"
Exception Analysis - Data being Returned
Workload Analysis - Data being Returned
System Analysis - Data Ok
Expert Analysis - Application Expert Analysis is not available for your selection.
So really it is just the Change analysis element, however this morning we have noticed a few short dumps in our ECC system:
Runtime Errors CALL_FUNCTION_CONFLICT_LENG
Exception CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_TYPE
Date and Time 15.06.2011 03:53:05
Will have to look into these.
In Answer to your questions:
Jim - What is the landscape verfication tool, do you know when I can download this from?
Paul - The SMD agent is installed and the managed system setup ran with no errors.
Guilherme - When selecting the ECC Server VPack successor, which I am assuming in in SMSY, I will let you know if that helps/
Aagin thank again for your assistance in this frustrating little issue.
Cheers
Phil
Hello,
For ECC on EHP4, selecting additionally the Product Version EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0 (/NW 7.01), and then selecting this as the Product Version in the SMD Managed System Setup Wizard.
Afterwards. the "ECC Server VPack successor" must be selected as main instance because it contains SAP BASIS 7.01, an ABAP software component, necessary to drive the setup wizard to create the right connections and extractors.
Best regards,
Guilherme Balbinot

Usually this issue can have lots of reasons.
Did you perform complete solman_setup ? Initial/Basic and Managed configuration ?
When your system started to be monitored by solman ?
