Duet Enterprise

Hi Guys,

After doing research on SAP and SharePoint integration, I understand that the SAP exposes its SOAP services but still do not understand why Duet Enterprise Add on is required to share SAP data on SharePoint Portal.

What makes customers to go for Duet Enterprise ?

As we know we can expose the WebServices without the Duet Enterprise AddOn and SharePoint just needs a webservice to produce data.

Please help me in understanding why Duet Enterprise AddOn installation is required on SAP side.
