Pass Portal user language to RFC Destination

Hi,

We are running RFC's from a CE application server and all messages are coming back from the RFC's are in English.

We're running CE 7.2 on Oracle AIX.

The Portal has been configured to use the request locale (i.e. the browser logon language) to determine the session locale.

This works fine within the Portal. If we logon to the portal using Internet Explorer and set the browser language to German then the Portal runs in German including our bespoke Java Webdynpros.

We've configured the RFC detsination in NWA to talk to the ECC application server. Within the logon details we've specified a technical user with no language.

We're lead to believe that the Portal session language should be passed to the RFC at runtime. However, this is not happening.

We have an OSS message open with SAP but feel that this must be something relatively straight forward to fix.

If anyone has any ideas that please let me know.

Many Thanks

Gary Kilby

CE Application call RFC?

So you can change the language by maintain JCO Destinations.

Hi Chen,

Thanks for your reply. If we can change the language at RFC destination it works but we need this to work as per SAP standard practice, using user browser locale and no where else to maintain the language (including UME, LDAP and ECC).

Also please remember that this is new Adaptive RFC2 on CE 7.2 system and should only maintain the RFC logon details on NWA SOA mamager under destinations. To be more clear, we should not follow settings under WebDynpro Content Admin for this.

Hope you got the scenario.
