Control User Password Error

I am trying to install IDES ECC 6.0 on MaxDB 7.6; but when i got to the point of setting up passwords

Database System Administrators Account and Database Manager Operator(Control Account) I keep getting an error message:

''The check of the control user password failed. check logfile XCMDOUT.LOG''

The message inside the logfile reads:

> Subprocess starts at 20110511073619

Execute Command : C:\Program Files\sdb\programs\pgm\dbmcli.exe -n ecc1 -d ECC -u control,******** db_state

Execute Session Command : exit

> Subprocess stops at 20110511073619

> Subprocess call failed

Error! Connection failed to node ecc1 for database ECC:

-24950,ERR_USRFAIL: User authorization failed

Please help this had held back my installation for a whole days

Thanks Guys but i have worked around it before your replies, I uninstalled the maxDb, ran the SAP install again and when it asked for MaxDB CD I provided it. Now I am import ABAP.

Hello Lane,

1. Did you create the SAP message where this issue was already reported?

2. ''The check of the control user password failed. check logfile XCMDOUT.LOG''

So at that point the Connection failed to node ecc1 for database ECC with the control user and password you are using.

Did you use the default password - control for the control user when you install the database instance?

If not => what password you used?

Did you try to change it using SAP note - 25591 ?

Hi All,

Please check the OS level password policy set for the system.It may be the issue.That it is not accepting the password at the time of installation.

me also faced similar issue that was because of password policy of the OS.

Please check and revert.
