Alternate Capacity resource

Hi everyone

In pharmaceutical industry we validate our Products on 2-3 different machines,

However in Reciepe we have to maintain 1 standard validated machine as Resource in operations

Is there any method of Capacity Evalution in SAP-ECC-6, where you can Link for a Finished goods 2 machines to evaluate the capacity reqirements. Something like Alternate machine for same operation.

Can pooling of capacity be used here ? and how?

Creating alternate Production versions is of little help since all planned orders will be generated with 1st assigned Receipe and flow will be with 1st production version

There's a nice feature in SAP that is designed exactly for the case when in planning phase you don't yet know the exact resource, so you still want to plan according to capacity, and assign the exact resource later, before releasing the order.

You can create a special resource/WC, that has an indicator that it cannot be released in an order (I'm not in front of a system, so I can't guide you exactly where to find this indicator in the resource/WC).

The idea is to have this resource on the master recepie; the capacity of this resource is the cummulated capacity of all the similar actual resources. This way you can plan capacity correctly. At order release the system will not let you release with that resource, and you'll have to change it to the one that will perform the actual work.

    Dear,

    You already know the answer...

Creating alternate Production versions is of little help since all planned orders will be generated with 1st assigned Receipe and flow will be with 1st production version

You can use the Quota Arrangement to disturb the quantities of planned orders as per the production version.

Or you can specify Particular Production version in demand management MD61 also .

You just search on SDN for selection of production version in MRP you will get lot of good postings.

I hope it will solve your issue.

    Hi,

It is true that production version not support much in this case & if u want to make some quota or other thing like lot sizes or valid period then it again not work because i hope u want some thing like,

your capacity will be total capacity of all machines & first itgo to a specific machine & when its capacity fully loaded then go to other & then other.

so for taking total capaity in picture u need to make workcenter for all thses machine but it will resolve ur purpose of getting each machine wise load, u can do one thing.

Make a work center for all machine, in capacity tab just take no of individual eq to no of machine put work center capacity so ur working hour become multiple of one machine hour.

now just go to of upper line then individual capacities , here u can put machine name & in desc u can put share in work center capacity also.

now for information just go process order operation detail & in split tab give machine name & load from operation qty.

hope this all work & u get report also with capacity (machine) wise.

    Thanks
