Let me pick this one, because it is my area of expertise:
These are interview-type FAQs, that would get locked on sight in the ABAP forums as well. I strongly suggest you make yourself familiar with the concepts outlined in these documents

If you continue to post questions that ignore forum rules and common sense, your user ID might get deleted.

HI Thomas Zloch
You Replied to me If it was a basic questions or Interview Questions We are going to Lock The User ID and Password,
Can U Clarify My Questions Below
1)On Which Basis You Decide that is an Interview Question ? some persons will go in detailed level what is going on Exactly in the system?
2)If i get any any Small queries at the Time of Working i post that dought for clarification(One thing iam not ready to work blindly with out knowing what is going on background)?
3)I heard that SDN is using mainly for sharing their knowledge, If you have no time plz dont reply to such a fundamental questions because every body was not highly intelligent
Hi Thomas Zloch, If my Words are heard plz dont mine because i express my feelings because you said those are interview questions, Thats why i gave long description and thanks to you because you are taking care of the SDN Formus with out duplicate questions
Thanks for your reply i will search the forum before posting and i said thanks to Pravender and Thomas Zloch, for taking care the SDN Forums, We will Really Appreciate them for taking more interest on Forums Maintenance

1) experience of many years, having seen tens of thousands of forum posts (as a user and later moderator); as of late I'm rather using the term "interview-like", because naturally I do not know if the question really appeared in an interview, it just sounds like it could well appear in one
2) always try clearing your doubts via own research first, a more effective learning experience, most type of problems/questions have been encountered and solved/answered before
3) yes; the rest I don't understand, sorry
Thumbs up for your last sentence, if meant seriously.
Thomas
Otto, many thanks for the kind words. By accepting the moderator duties I guess I also accepted to be more patient and constructive with problems that people have with the SCN forums or the moderation thereof. As Rob once said (I believe it was him), we have grown a thick skin as part of the job. It is quite natural that people are not amused when their posts get locked. We nevertheless try to be as consistent and consequent as possible when enforcing the forum rules and netiquette.
When I had enough in the past, I simply took a "day off"
I will not make it to Madrid this year, I am "inbetween projects" and might just have started a new job around that time or shortly before. I will check out the virtual sessions and hope for some interesting posts and blogs.

Why you are spoiling the interests of the people who are ready for updating their knowledge
I do not think so that someone will update their knowledge by answering basic questions.
don't give unnecessarily answers plz search old forums like that
Why you feel its unnecessary to search the forums and spend some time to help yourself before asking others?

Hi ,
I agree with Ramu's point .Sometime forums are not having sufficient or consolidated knowledge at one place and if we post queries for getting better answers.Even one of my question get rejected just because they feel it is not posted in right forum ,While all older post related to that are in same forum and I am itself working on that area only so how come they just cancel a question or close a post because they are not right as per there understanding .

Jaya

i think your missing the bigger picture.
maybe indeed, sometimes threads are blocked for some dark reasons...whatever.
But, you need to bear in mind that the people answering questions are not a 24/7 helpdesk. They have their own job to perform as consultant/lead/whatever... and are on the net for other reasons than to answer your questions. they just have the habit of looking at the latest post whenever they are on the site and answer what ever they can...
if you then see a question that concerns basic BI knowledge, and you know that a simple search would provide useful answers, you can not help but thinking how lazy some people can be...
even more, if you then provide an answer, giving a general picture of what to do, and you receive a reply in the line of:
please provide the code
or whatever, you really are feeling like a free helpdesk, unappreciated and shouted at...
this is just a personal view of the matter.

ROTFL
the admin normally blocks the posts which have already been discussed on the forum.

Hi Ramu,
The thread which I have locked indeed looks to me basic/frequently asked/interview questions, which can easily be answered by searching SDN.
- This thread you want to know information about inventory in BI. You can easily find so much information about this topic by a simple search.
In the same way all other threads:
[/message/10239202#10239202 [original link is broken]]
[/message/10239097#10239097 [original link is broken]]
(One more i could not find)
More to that if you will see this thread []
SDN members who want to help you need more information to provide better suggestions, but you do not want to look back at those thread and reply.
The spelling of "DOUBT" is not "Dought". Please do a spell check.
@Jaya : Its not the responsibility of SDN members to provide consolidated information to you. How can you expect someone to do your work. Please do not treat SDN as 24/7 support. If forum does not have sufficient information, then no moderator will lock/reject the thread. About thread rejection, I really can not say who rejected your thread. You can send a mail to SCN help desk to get more information about it. More to that I have already mailed you about not to answer basic questions. But I do not see any change.
