'Item Category N: only base unit of measure M3 allowed' also for this material alternate unit of measurement has been created as M3,VALUE &LOAD but base unit of measurement is M3 also in purchasing data variable order unit is be Active.

The UOM is M3 and we couldn't change this to Value

user are able to change the UOM when it is a Purchase Order, but user really need to be able to do this at Requistionlevel please could you advise me how we can achieve this.

Thanks

The requisition is an internal document. Internal documents work with internal used unit, which is the base unit.

you can enter the Purchase order unit in one of the detail tabs, but you cannot change the main unit.

Maybe you created your material in a wrong base unit?

Hi,

As Jurgen said before, the system Uses the Base UOM which is used as default SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) for Creation of Purchase requisition as it is purely an Internal Document and Posting in MIGO.

When you maintain the required settings in Material Master for Alternate UOM and Purchasing Screen (with variable Unit as 1) you can procure the item in any of the UOM's defined including any of the selected UOM's by changing the unit in PO.

Further, when you do a GR, the system allows you to accept in any UOM defined yet, it calculates the quantity in SKU (Base UOM) along with the alternate UOM.(Can be changed by the user at the time of GR/GI etc.)

There would be a work around or User exit / Badi for achieving this objective which I am not aware of, to use alternate UOM in PR.

for more info on UOM conversions etc. please check on the following link :

Hope it helps,

Best regards
