material discription

Dear Expert,

while creating material we give discription it is limited upto 40 characters , but for some materials it requires more so can we increase this?

Try to use the Purchase Order Text View during material creation using MM01

This you can pull into your PO printout also with help from ABAper

Hello

You can extend Purcahse order text view in material master, so that it will appear in PO.

Or

you can also maintain in info-record (TCodeME11), if it is vendor specific it will be copied to PO in Info record text tab.

we can not increase that 40 charac. length, but alternate for this is you can maintained it in the long text in additional data tab of material master.
