EP6 for SAP WebAS 6.40

Hi There

Currently we are in design stage for deploying HR with ESS / MSS, currently we have upgraded our 4.6B system to 4.7 Enterprise with Web AS 6.30, Central System.

My confusion lies in the EP. Do we need to install another WebAS server or can I link it to the existing system?

Is EP a complete system in its own right with DB etc?
